National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Sand

Level 3  Credits 68

This qualification is designed for an operator who works in the sand sector of the extractive industries. The qualification comprises compulsory standards related to hazard recognition, lifting and moving loads, environmental impacts, mathematics, and use of tools and equipment.

This National Certificate leads on to the National Certificate in Extractive Industries – Sand (Level 4). These two qualifications may be assessed concurrently, where applicable and can be a pathway to the National Certificates in Extractive Industries - Operations (Levels 3 & 4)

Surface Extraction includes quarries, open cast coal and gold mines, lime mills, alluvial gold extraction, iron sands, and industrial minerals. Underground Extraction includes metalliferous and coal underground mines and tunnels.
