Level 3 Credits 49-82
This qualification is designed for junior/trainee miners/operators who work in an extractive industries surface or underground site.
This qualification builds on the National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Introductory Skills and leads to the National Certificates in Extractive Industries - Operations (Level 4), Supervision ( Levels 4 & 5) and the National Diploma in Extractive Industries – Management.
Surface Extraction includes quarries, open cast coal and gold mines, lime mills, alluvial gold extraction, iron sands, and industrial minerals. Underground Extraction includes metalliferous and coal underground mines and tunnels.
