National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Introductory Skills with strands in Surface Extraction and Underground ExtractionLevel 2 Credits 44 or 46This qualification is designed for an entry-level worker at a surface or underground extraction site. This qualification is a foundation qualification for a pathway that comprises National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Operations (Level 3) and culminates in the National Diploma in Extractive Industries – Management. Surface Extraction includes quarries, open cast coal and gold mines, lime mills, alluvial gold extraction, iron sands, and industrial minerals. Underground Extraction includes metalliferous and coal underground mines and tunnels. COMPULSORY: 18 Credits
