National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Mining Electrical Engineering Non-Hazardous Areas, with an optional strand in Underground Extraction

This qualification has been designed for registered electricians who work at a surface or underground extraction site in non-hazardous areas.
The holder of this qualification is able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in the operation of industrial high voltage distribution systems and electrical switchgear, overhauling and repairing of explosion protected electrical equipment employing Ex d protection, and health and safety procedures for an extraction site.
Prerequisite: The National Certificate in Electrical Engineering - Electrician for Registration (Level 4), or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills and electrical registration. Overseas applicants are required to apply to the Electrical Workers Registration Board for electrical registration and a practising license prior to the award of this qualification.
