National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Mining Administration Surface Extraction A Grade

This qualification is designed for A Grade Opencast Coal Mine Managers and A Grade Quarry Managers as part of the requirements for their statutory status.

Holders of this certificate are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills related to inspecting and reporting on extractive sites and operations, reviewing and implementing plans for extractives operations, planning storage of processed product, designing and maintaining stockpiles, selecting plant for excavation and transportation, rehabilitation planning; selecting crushing and screening plant, and geological features and their effects on an extraction site and the extraction methods.

Pre-requisite: National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Mining Administration Surface Extraction B Grade

Special Notes: The content of this national qualification is based on the requirements of the gazette notice relating to the mining administration regulations and Certificates of Competence. People who have completed the requirements of this qualification may be eligible to apply for an A Grade Opencast Coal Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competence or an A Grade Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competence.
