National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Mining Administration with strands in A Grade Tunnel Manager, and Coal Mine Underviewer

Level 5 or 6   Credits 91 or 95

This qualification is designed for A Grade Tunnel Managers or Coal Mine Underviewers as part of the requirements for their statutory status.

Holders of this qualification are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills related to: planning rehabilitation operations; designing, establishing, and maintaining effective ventilation systems; geology for underground extraction; evaluating and implementing plans to manage old workings and inundations in underground sites.

This National Certificate can lead on to the National Diploma in Extractive Industries - Mining Administration (Level 6)

Pre-requisite: National Certificate in Extractive Industries - Mining Administration B Grade Tunnel Manager

Special Notes: The content of this national qualification is based on the requirements of the gazette notice relating to the mining administration regulations and Certificates of Competence.

People who have completed the requirements of this qualification may be eligible to apply for a Coal Mine Underviewer’s Certificate of Competence or an A Grade Tunnel Manager’s Certificate of Competence.
