ITNZ is NZQA accredited to undertake training to Level 6 in Surface and Underground Mining and can provide courses specific to your company’s requirements. Prior learning may be recognised at both unit standard and qualification level by ITNZ.

MITO (NZ Motor Industry Industry Training Organisation) is the ITO (Industry Training Organisation) for this Industry.

Certificates of Competence (CoC’s)

CoC's are also referred to as "tickets", "permits" or "licences". CoC's are the regulatory requirements of the Department of Labour, which you need before you are allowed to carry out specific jobs for the Extractive Industry. There are set unit standards which you must achieve along with the relevant work experience. When you have met the requirements you can then make an application to MITO.
