This National Certificate recognises essential skills and knowledge required by people working in waste handling industries (excluding waste water). The holder of the qualification is able to work safely in a waste handling workplace, under supervision.
This qualification leads to the
National Certificate in Solid Waste Disposal - Landfill Entry Control (Level 3) and the
National Certificate in Solid Waste Disposal – Landfill Operations (Level 3).
This qualification with the optional strand in Hazardous Waste leads to the
National Certificate in Hazardous Waste - Processing and Disposal (Level 3), the
National Certificate in Hazardous Waste - Processing and Disposal (Level 4), the
National Certificate in Solid Waste Disposal - Landfill Management, and the
National Diploma in Hazardous Waste - Processing and Disposal (Level 5).
Special Notes
This qualification has been designed to provide health and safety training for employees entering the solid and hazardous waste industries and may be used as evidence for ACC partnership programmes requirements.
