This National Certificate recognises the skills and knowledge of an experienced processor of hazardous waste for disposal. The holder of the qualification is able to work in the sector of the waste industry that processes and disposes of hazardous wastes, in an operations or administrative role.
This qualification follows on from the
National Certificate in Solid Waste - Core Skills (Level 2) and leads to the
National Certificate in Hazardous Waste - Processing and Disposal (Level 4) and the
National Diploma in Hazardous Waste - Processing and Disposal (Level 5).
It is recommended that prior to achievement of this qualification, candidates have demonstrated competence in safe handling and disposal of solid and hazardous waste. This may be through the achievement of the
National Certificate in Solid Waste – Core Skills or demonstration of equivalent knowledge and skills.
