Description
This course aims to support approved Health & Safety Representatives by providing them with the skills and knowledge required for the successful management of health and safety through good faith cooperation with employers, fellow employees and their representatives.
This course is approved by the Employment Relations Service (ERS).
Content includes:

Communication with others, management and external agencies

Critical thinking to interpret facts and situations

Accurate documenting, analysis and reporting of facts/incidents

Acting as an advocate for healthy and safe work practices in the work place
Candidates will develop:

Knowledge of the requirements of the HSE Act and competency to discharge their duties under the Act (Section 19 Part 2A)

Enhanced knowledge and skills in hazard identification and risk management
-
The ability to identify and control significant hazards on their work site(s)
-
Communication skills for discussion of workplace safety an health issues with the employer
-
Ability to accurately report, record and investigate accident information in terms of establishing cause and effect
-
Ability to deal with workers who have work related injuries and assist in their rehabilitation
