This qualification places an emphasis on the general skills essential for people working, or considering working, in the agriculture industry

On successful completion of the qualification candidates may progress to the following Agriculture Industry Training Organisation qualifications depending on the sector in which they are employed:
*National Certificate in Agriculture - Introductory Skills
*National Certificate in Agriculture
*National Certificate in Agriculture - Animal Feeding and Pastures
*National Certificate in Agriculture - Cattle Breeding
*National Certificate in Agriculture - Stockperson – Cattle and Sheep
*National Certificate in Agriculture - Animal Health and Husbandry
*National Certificate in Arable Farming
*National Certificate in Dairy Farming – Milking
*National Certificate in Dairy Farming - Animal Health and Husbandry
*National Certificate in Deer Farming
*National Certificate in Sheep Farming - Sheep Breeding

Credit for agrichemical standards may contribute to Approved Handler certification under the requirements of the Environmental Risk and Management Authority (ERMA).
